[email protected]Frequently asked questions
How does matching with my partner work?
Invite your partner with the link from the app. You each swipe on your own phone. When you both like the same name, it's a match and lands on your shared shortlist, where you can reorder names and add notes. A household has two people, and anyone with your invite link can join while there is room, so send it only to your partner.
Does one subscription cover both of us?
Yes. While either of you has an active subscription, both of you get full access. If the person who subscribed leaves the household or deletes their account, the other loses that access.
How does the free trial work?
The yearly plan has a 3-day free trial for accounts the store considers eligible; the weekly plan has none. When the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts and you are charged unless you cancel before then (on the App Store, at least 24 hours before). Namiri does not send a reminder before the trial ends, so note the date when you start.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone and iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Namiri › Cancel Subscription. Android: Google Play Store › your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Namiri › Cancel subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
I have a new phone. How do I get my list back?
If you linked Sign in with Apple or Google, install Namiri and sign in with the same Apple or Google account in Settings: the app switches to your existing account, household and list. To get your subscription back, tap Restore purchases. If you never linked an account, it cannot be recovered after the app is deleted, so link it in Settings while you still can.
How does the family vote work?
From your list, share a family vote link. Relatives open it in a browser, type a name and vote for or against each name on your shortlist, with no app or account. The link works for 30 days and up to 30 people can vote; the votes are deleted 30 days after the link closes. Anyone with the link can see the names on your shortlist, so share it with family only.
Where do the meanings come from?
From open data: Wiktionary (CC BY-SA 4.0), Wikidata and national statistics offices, including TÜİK for Türkiye. Meanings confirmed by a licensed source are marked as verified; others were drafted by AI. You'll find every source and licence under Settings › Sources & licences. The TDK Kişi Adları Sözlüğü is a reference we consult only; none of its text is copied into Namiri. If a meaning looks wrong, tell us.
What does the AI see?
With a subscription or trial, our servers send your baby profile and the names you recently liked and passed to Anthropic, whose Claude models pick names and write the reasons. Ask sends your messages and profile; a name's story and checks send only the name. Under Anthropic's commercial terms this data is not used to train its models. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Which notifications does Namiri send?
Two kinds, both opt-in: nothing is sent unless you allow notifications. When you and your partner both like a name, the one who liked it first gets a notification. There is also a daily name, which you can turn off in Settings. You can turn all notifications off in your phone's settings.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings, tap Delete account and confirm. Your account, likes and passes, suggestion log and saved AI reasons are deleted straight away. If your partner stays in the household, the shared profile, shortlist and notes stay with them. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, and deleting the app does not delete your account. If you can no longer open the app, use the deletion request form.
