Common questions
Does it really work without internet?
Yes, after a one-time download. Speech recognition, translation and voices run on the phone. A language that still needs its files shows it; that download needs internet once.
Is my conversation sent anywhere?
No. What you say and its translation stay on the phone. The Privacy Policy lists the few things that do go online: model and language downloads, purchases and a currency-rate file.
The microphone does nothing.
masa needs Microphone and Speech Recognition permission. If you said no, open Settings › masa and turn them on, or continue by typing.
How do I keep or delete conversations?
Saving is off by default. Turn on "Keep conversations" in Settings to keep them, encrypted, on this phone. In History, Delete clears them.
What is Doğru mod?
masa's own on-device engine: Whisper re-reads what was said and a translation model reads the conversation so far, for meaning, register and gender. It is part of masa Pro, and your first translations run in it so you can hear the difference. It downloads once and needs a phone with enough memory.
How do I restore or cancel Pro?
Restore from the Pro sheet in masa, on an iPhone signed in to the same Apple account. Cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions; deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Can I rely on it at a doctor's or a lawyer's?
Machine translation can be wrong. Check numbers, doses and names with the other person, and use a professional interpreter for important decisions.
