1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Cortex ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Cortex is an on-device AI assistant that runs large language models (LLMs) entirely on your phone. The App allows you to download AI models and have conversations processed locally on your device without internet connectivity.

3. Purchases

3.1 Free Tier

The free version includes 4 AI models: Llama 3.2 1B, SmolLM2 1.7B, Qwen 3 1.7B, and Gemma 2 2B.

3.2 Cortex Pro

Cortex Pro unlocks all 9 AI models including larger, more capable models. This is a one-time, non-consumable purchase — there are no subscriptions or recurring charges.

3.3 Billing

• Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store.
• Cortex Pro is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring charges or auto-renewals.
• You can restore your purchase on any device signed into the same Apple ID.

3.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple per their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. AI Disclaimer

AI models running on Cortex generate responses based on patterns in their training data. These responses:

• May contain inaccuracies or hallucinations
• Do not constitute professional, medical, legal, or financial advice
• Should not be relied upon for critical decisions
• May vary in quality depending on the model selected and device capabilities

NERON is not responsible for the content generated by AI models. The AI models included in Cortex are open-source models created by third parties (Meta, Google, Alibaba, Microsoft, Mistral AI, Hugging Face) under their respective licenses.

5. User Responsibilities

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
• You are responsible for ensuring your device has sufficient storage and memory to run downloaded models.
• You acknowledge that AI model downloads may be large (up to 5.5 GB) and may consume significant bandwidth.
• You are responsible for the prompts you provide to the AI and how you use the generated responses.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and user interface, is owned by NERON. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal purposes.

AI models included in the App are distributed under their respective open-source licenses (Llama Community License, Apache 2.0, Gemma Terms of Use, MIT License). Your use of these models is subject to their original license terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NERON shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the App, including but not limited to damages arising from AI-generated content.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Cortex processes all data on-device and does not transmit your conversations or personal data to any server.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. This will permanently delete all local data. Your Cortex Pro purchase remains tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
